Company: The Breach Studios

Robo Kiden is a third person shooter from The Breach Studios. I joined as Senior QA Tester and ended up running QA for the project, from planning how we’d test it down to the team’s daily work.

What I did

  • Led a team of three testers, coordinated their work and made sure everyone was working to the same standard.
  • Wrote the test strategy for both our internal team and external testers, tied to the project’s milestones.
  • Put together the test scenarios, cases and scripts we needed.
  • Set up how we tracked and reported bugs.
  • Prioritised the team’s workload each day so we were always on the riskiest areas first.
  • Represented QA in meetings, reported on where quality stood, and brought what we’d learned into retrospectives.

The big job here was building the project’s whole QA setup at once: the plans, the bug process, the team and the reporting.
